Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto dan Gibran Rakabuming Raka officially elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the result of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) night. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election.
“We would like to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his thanks to the KPU and the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic celebration ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we felt the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Mighty Indonesia Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and great appreciation to the TNI-Polri who made the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and peaceful,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Mighty Indonesia Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairpersons and all members of political parties within it. In addition, Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all the chairpersons and all members of all parties in KIM, the TKN, volunteers, mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” Prabowo said.
Prabowo invited all the people of Indonesia to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationality amidst differences.
“We invite all the people of Indonesia to look forward together, unite, hold hands. We must be harmonious, cooperate to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” Prabowo said.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationality, if there are differences among us, it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, all choices of the people must be respected,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president who work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia. Prabowo said that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all the people of Indonesia. For those who did not choose us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all the people of Indonesia,” he concluded.
